A lifetime exploring Cape Town's mountains
I've been walking the mountains of Cape Town for as long as I can remember.
My father, Mike Lundy, introduced me to Table Mountain when I was six years old. What began as childhood walks together became a lifelong passion for me. As he researched and wrote his bestselling guidebooks to the Cape's walks, I was fortunate enough to accompany him on many of those journeys, learning the mountain one path at a time.
Those early years on the trails gave me an instinctive understanding of the mountain, its terrain, weather patterns and hidden places.
More than thirty years later, I'm still discovering something new every time I head out onto the trail.

More than a guide
Over the years, my relationship with the mountain has evolved.
I've served as a mountain rescuer, where I learned the importance of preparation, judgement and calm decision-making in difficult conditions. I later qualified as a registered mountain guide and turned a hobby into a profession.
Since then, I've guided visitors from around the world, from experienced hikers seeking demanding routes to first-time visitors wanting to experience the mountain’s incredible vistas.
No two walks are the same; every hike has its own story.

Glamtrails
In 2020, my wife Gillian and I launched Glamtrails, inspired by the belief that walking in nature should be both restorative and adventurous.
Our walks combine spectacular scenery with exceptional food, local wine, and good conversation. They're designed for people who want to slow down, immerse themselves in the landscape, the local people and produce, and enjoy the experience as much as the destination.
It's a natural extension of everything I've loved about guiding throughout my career: sharing extraordinary places with people who'll remember them long after the walk is over.
